Citizen Observation for Transparent and Accountable Elections in Pakistan

The project, Citizen Observation for Transparent and Accountable Elections in Pakistan, is being managed by Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) and Trust for Democratic Education and Accountability (TDEA) through its 35 partner organizations in Pakistan. This is an eleven months project, started from November 6, 2017 till September 30, 2018.

Bedari is implementing this project in 6 districts of Punjab, which includes Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Tobatek Singh, Sahiwal and Vehari. Focus of this project is to enhance independent observation of the process of general election of 2018 thus improving the enforcement of electoral regulation and public access on election related information. TDEA/FAFEN has planned to train and depute 19000 (total staff 20520) election observers in all district of Pakistan including agencies.

Bedari through this project will be able to promote a pro-democratic narrative. Bedari considers this project important as activities under this project help to improve governance and increase women participation in political arena hence empowering them to get their rights at equal level.
