Anbreen Ajaib
Executive Director
Anbreen Ajaib has a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Quid-e-Azam University Islamabad, and is currently doing Masters in Human Rights and Social Justice from London Metropolitan University London. She has over 10 years of experience of working with development sector in Pakistan. She is a trainer, a human rights activist and a manager/leader of development projects. She has worked with Plan Pakistan International, Action Aid Pakistan, Potohar Development Organization, and has provided consultation to many more organizations on gender, communication and organizational development issues. She has been teaching as visiting lecturer in Iqra University, Islamabad and Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi. She has to her credit two papers on gender based violence. These include ‘Sexual Violence against Girls at Schools (co-authored with Nazish Brohi), and ‘Youth Development Strategy’ for Action Aid partners.
Her association with Bedari dates back to the time when she was a student of psychology at Qauid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. She used to volunteer her services for various activities including organizing community sessions, theater performances and providing support to violence survivors. Later, she became a member of Bedari’s Executive Committee.
She rejoined Bedari in the year 2007 as human resource and training manager. In this capacity, she worked till 2010, when the post of executive director became vacant. In June 2010, she took up the responsibilities of heading the organization.Safeer Ullah Khan
Communications & Advocacy Manager
Safeer Ullah Khan holds a master’s degree in English literature, with a work experience of over 8 years in development sector. His skills include writing, advertising, project management, theater (acting, play-writing, direction and theater trainings) etc. He has successfully run a project on iodine deficiency disorders (IDDs) in Okara district. He has performed in numerous plays and gave theater trainings to many volunteers working for different NGOs. He has been running a project on “accountability of humanitarian aid agencies” in Mansehra – a district severely damaged in earthquake 2005. He has been working with Bedari since January 2008.
Urooj Saadat
Program Manager (Crisis Intervention Program)
Urooj Saadat, has a master’s degree in social work from the Punjab University and 8 years of experience of working with NGOs in Lahore and Islamabad. She has been working with Bedari since 2006.
Farida Bano
Finance Manager
Farida has worked with different organizations and institutions and gained valuable experience in community development, social research, monitoring and management. She has been looking after Bedari’s financial matters since 2007.
Nosheen Bibi
Program Officer
Nosheen has done masters in Economics from the Punjab University. She has worked with REACH, Family Planning Association of Pakistan and National Rural Support Program. She has developed expertise in mobilizing communities on various issues. Currently she is working with Bedari as Program Officer.
Muhammad Nadeem
Program Officer
Nadeem Malik is studying non-formal education and has long been associated with different NGOs. He has worked with Nai Zindagi as counselor helping drug addicts overcome their addiction. He has some experience of working in the marketing department of AC Nelson. He has been looking after Bedari’s projects in various district including Muzaffarabad and Bagh in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Chakwal and Rawalpindi in Punjab.
Mudassar Nazar
Admin & IT Assistant
Mudassar Nazar is skilled in trouble shooting IT related problems. He has been working with Bedari since 2006.
