Child’s Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) GIRLS Inspire
Commonwealth of Learning, Canada funded GIRLS Inspire (CEFM) was a three years’ project in five countries around the globe, aiming to reduce child marriage.
Bedari under GIRLS Inspire, worked in the target districts of Muzaffargarh and Multan in South Punjab to provide schooling and skills training to disadvantaged women and girls. The focus of Bedari was to raise awareness in the target communities through theatre performances, sessions for parents, and local opinion makers, and boys and men, self-growth sessions for girls and advocacy events. The mission was to bring to light the harmful impact on society of child, early and forced marriage, and other gender-based discrimination and violence.
The three years’ project provided immense opportunity to expand organizational visibility through cost-effective measures.
