I am Aftab Amjad, a native living on “Indus bank in Basti Band village in District Layyah”. Like majority of villages in Punjab, here the main source of income is agriculture and labor work. Minimum people are involved in any employment or factory work. The good thing of our village is the literacy rate which is comparatively better then neighboring villages. The proportion of literate women is also good here. The people in our village are basically lacking confidence and trust on themselves due to which they are unable to present themselves on any platform including myself.  One-day staff from Innovation Hub Layyah EYW project run by Bedari and funded by Oxfam visited our village. I joined them as innovator along other male and female (in majority) members and got various trainings on Interview skills, Standard package, livestock, small business, and life and communication skills. These trainings turned very useful and most of my team members got involved in different activities of income generation according to their interest. I personally failed in many test/interviews attempts but after getting these trainings my learnings, and confidence increased and got selected in Pakistan Army in Year 2020. I am very happy and satisfied from my achievement which EYW project made me to get it and prove myself. I advise and encourage male and female fellows to get benefitted from this project and become useful citizen in the society.
