Bedari is working in ten villages of District Chakwal under Building Child Marriage Free Communities- Her Choice. Dhoke Khillas Village one of them. It is very backward area of District Chakwal with deep religious roots and strong practice of child marriages in the village. Mr.Owlia Khan is the Imam Masjid ( religious leader in) in this village. He also teaches Holy Quran to the children of the village. Mr. Owlia Khan is very renown and popular person in his village. Since Bedari started working in this village he presented his services as a volunteer.  Mr. Khan shared that since he is matured he saw that girls and boys are married at very early age. The reason is people are too inclined towards religion they get their children married at early age. Mr. Khan said, I used to aks community members and relative not to practice this concerning its consequences but they don’t bother to listen me. Talking about child marriage became a sinful act for me. Girls Education was also unnecessary thing for most of the families of this village. In a few families girls were able to complete their education till the grade 10. Bedari started working in our village in 2016. In 2017 I can see change in people’s approach towards child marriage and girl’s education. In my opinion child marriage is a wrong practice. It not only affects the life of two individuals but the entire family and those who yet to be born. Besides physical health of the girls it also affects the emotional health and education is left incomplete. All these issues were in my mind but I was alone. People of my village and my family members don’t agree to my opinion earlier. But now we have Child Protection Committee of likeminded people. Earlier everyone was reluctant to talk about child marriage. But now committee members and most of community members have understand that marriage under 18 is not only illegal but also dangerous for two individuals and the entire family. I assure you that I with other CPC members will put our energy to end child marriage from our village.
