The GRACE Project (Granting Rights, Appearance, Confidence and Equality) is an initiative implemented by Bedari in partnership with Médecins du Monde (MdM) to raise awareness about Gender-Based Violence (GBV), acid violence, and survivor support services in Punjab, Pakistan. The project aims to improve public knowledge of GBV prevention, legal rights, available protection mechanisms, and emergency response for survivors, particularly those affected by acid and burn-related violence.
Through a combination of radio broadcasts, social media campaigns, podcasts, and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, the project delivers accessible, rights-based, and survivor-centered information to communities, service providers, and key stakeholders. The initiative engages government institutions, medical professionals, civil society organizations, media, and community networks to promote prevention, early response, and support for survivors.
During its implementation, the project reached hundreds of thousands of people across Punjab through expert-led radio programs, public service announcements, digital awareness campaigns, and the distribution of 15,000 Urdu IEC materials. Special emphasis was placed on inclusive outreach, ensuring that women and girls with disabilities, rural communities, and vulnerable populations had access to critical information and support services.
By strengthening awareness, encouraging help-seeking behavior, and promoting collective responsibility to address GBV, the GRACE Project contributes to creating safer, more informed, and more supportive communities for women and girls across Punjab.
