Bedari helped me advance my mission and through this platform I am able to connect to my community women in a better way,” Ms. Nisa expressing her views after a community session. Ms. Wazeer un Nisa belongs to Gujrat. Her mother was a political worker at district level for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Her mother became her aspiration to do something good for the community. Unfortunately, she bore the loss of her mother’s death and decided to take up her role and continued with the struggle. She worked hard on women’s political participation and strengthened women’s wing being a member. Depending upon her work she was given the designation of district president by the party. The project She Can Lead provided her with a platform where she was able to take her work one step ahead. Being a member of Women Lead Group, she held meetings with community directly and addressed their challenges. It is very rare to find women like Ms. Nisa who are vocal and active in politics. Women generally are not active neither aware of their right to vote. Thus the project proved to create awareness among the women to stand up for their right. As the trainings under the project provided her with more skills, she is able to converse in a better effective way. Community women shared the challenges they face to register their CNIC and casting their vote making their free choices. Ms. Nisa brought the challenges to further platforms and party meetings, motivating them to introduce effective measures for women emancipation in political process. Now she is contesting elections directly as MNA and is also offered the post of MPA on reserved seat.
