Her Choice is an alliance of three organizations – Kinderpostzegels, The Hunger Project, and International Child Development Initiatives (ICDI). This was a 5 years long program (2016-2020) funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of The Netherlands. It aims to combat child marriages in many countries around the world including Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali, Nepal, Pakistan, Senegal, Siera Leone and Uganda.
The main objective of this project was to empower girls through knowledge and skills so that they could speak up for their rights. The programmer’s long-term goal was to support the creation of communities free from child marriages, in which girls and young women are free to decide if, when and whom to marry.
